Narrative
Bell County provided a ten-year property tax abatement on the center and a five-year abatement for an expansion about six years later. Local economic development officials were unable to estimate the value of the abatements, but based on information from local tax appraisers, we estimate the savings to Wal-Mart at about $3.6 million.
