Narrative
While city officials did not return our calls, the Los Angeles Daily News reported on January 22, 2007 that the Supercenter subsidy package turned over ownership of a former Costco retail building (value undetermined) and provided $500,000 for remodeling work. The city also awarded $1.8 million in sales tax increment financing. The Supercenter is being constructed just to the south of a smaller existing Wal-Mart store, which will be closed and rehabbed to accommodate a group of smaller stores.
